PRESS INFORMATION ABOUT WAYNE:

Wayne Singleton, founder, lead vocalist and accordionist of the band Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step, was raised in Lewisburg, Louisiana; a community centered in the area considered to be the birthplace of Zydeco, Wayne has been playing Zydeco music since the age of seven.

Now in his late thirties, Wayne writes most of his own songs, and is a very versatile musician having mastered every instrument played in his band. Wayne has earned his status among the elite of the younger zydeco musicians. He has experience of playing with many of the legendary groups. He has played with Beau Jocque, Zydeco Force, Keith Frank, Chris Ardoin, Sean Ardoin, Andre Thierry and many more.

Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step can produce old and new zydeco music. The touch of nouveau music has put them at a different level, without compromising their traditional roots. The demand for the music of these 2-steppin' guys is growing daily. You can find the band playing at the local historical clubs, and they are in great demand for local and national festivals. When you see these young musicians at work, you will see the best. Wayne will make you dance!

What's the Buzz on the Street About the Band?

"We love working with Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step. They draw a good crowd, are very popular locally and with the tourist crowd. They are always spot on in reading their crowd and keeping everyone on the floor. High energy, great performers and the nicest young men you would ever want to work with. We promote them every chance we get."

- Angelle's at Whiskey River Landing

"Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step are the link. They are the band that isn’t going to get a big head. They will keep it old zydeco and rooted but kick the hell out of it and keep zydeco fresh and moving for the younger fans and keep the traditional form of zydeco alive for a long time."

-Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajun’s

"Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step are consistently among our top three draws. We are always being asked when they will be playing again. They maintain a high level of energy and have everyone on the dance floor. They do not take a break, and play non-stop for three hours. That keeps our patrons engaged and dancing. They are a highly professional band to work with. They arrive on time and play on time, and they also always give us a “few extra minutes” to make sure everyone gets their money’s worth."

- Grant Street Dancehall
Lafayette, Louisiana

"Wayne is always ready to get the crowd moving and never lets his fans down. Now that’s a recipe for some good home- cooked dancing."
